DIY: Fabric Fresh

As part of our family’s journey to a chemical free home, we threw away all commercial fabric fresheners. We used to use them all the time with kids playing in our house, two dogs, a weightlifting husband, and the normal day to day smells. However, once I learned of the toxicity and damage the chemicals in those cleaners posess – there was no way I wanted those things near my family! Now we use this recipe for ‘fabric fresh’- a completely DIY toxin free fabric freshener that is safe for our family and our pets. Enjoy!

FABRIC FRESH

1/2 cup baking soda

Young Living Essential Oils of your choosing

  • I used lavender, purification, cedar wood and thieves

Distiller water

A glass spray bottle

————————————–

Step 1: mix half a cup of baking soda with about 30 drops of essential oils in any combination of your choosing.

Step 2: pour the mixture into the glass bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water

Step 3: close the bottle and shake to mix- always make sure to shake before use so the spray top doesn’t get clogged.

Step 4: COVER YOUR HOUSE! Spray on blankets, dog beds, pillows, in closets etc and enjoy the beautiful fresh smell of your home!
