Today I am working my 9-5 day job from our Austin, Texas office. There is nothing like learning how to continue your normal daily routine while on the road. From finding new places to eat, exploring a new town, room service, and still having to go into the office each day- business travel is certainly a world of its own.
As many of my closest friends and family know- I have anxiety issues. So how do you learn you overcome the anxiety and handle business travel like a lady boss?! Well- I am absolutely not a doctor- but I will tell you the little things that have worked for me.
- Confidence- you are where you are for a reason. and you are doing what you are doing for a reason. Find that reason and hang on to it with all your might.
- Comfort – if at the end of the day – you feel like a movie, room service and a bubble bath in your hotel- do it! pamper yourself if you need to- and don’t be afraid to enjoy it.
- Routine- establish small items in your daily routine when you are home that you can easily carry with you when you travel- this will help make the adjustment seem easy!
Here is one of my favorite routine moments for the morning:
Yup! That’s right a cup of coffee with a drop of cinnamon bark- LOVE IT! When I get that digestive support from the cinnamon I am a happy camper. However, essential oils can add support for emotional health as well – the smell reminds me of my routine at home- which makes the morning adjustment that much nicer.
